Of movies and me
Wow, I can’t believe that it has been a week since my last post…I’ve just been very busy this past week studying like mad for 3 tests. (I also had to rewrite a large part of this post, because the blog server was down for maintenance.) Now if this was last year, I wouldn’t have an excuse for not posting sooner. See, although it may have seemed that I was a business student, I was actually majoring in FILM…and probably one of their best students ever. To fully understand what I did, I have to describe a little thing called HOBBES. HOBBES is a network that indexes computers that are connected in the dorms to the A&M resnet… this made it possible for me to “borrow” a little over 100 hours worth of movies and shows and watch them during all times of the day and night…times I could have used to study…this is why I must now kill myself studying to raise my GPA. Yeah….
I think its cool that some people actually think this blog is funny, which wasn’t my original intent. (I actually only started this because I had to be a member of the"Blog community" to post on my sister’s blog.) It has also been made aware that some people think I am “a good writer.” (hey Sandra and Sharissa!) I only wish that whatever “skill” I seem to possess would have helped me back in my senior year of high school English V, where I so desperately tried to pen my essays to perfection only to get rejected again and again for “lack of a well-developed thesis” and failure to “be elaborate yet concise” on my points. I’ve also been told that I write differently than I talk, which I am somewhat at a loss as how to respond…I mean, I know it is a complement, but I wonder if what they’re really saying is “oh, you’re not as boring as I thought you were.” I guess it’s that I don’t open up as much as I could around people, especially around large groups, unless I know them really well, like my family... and if there are more gregarious people than I around that like to, shall we say, "contribute extensively” to the conversation, I just sit back and enjoy it, occasionally adding my two cents in, of course.

Tight tangles tend to try tempers
As I sit down to write this, I must constantly silence the little voice in my head that is perpetually reminding me that I have 3 tests coming up and that I must diligently study study study and not waste any precious time....well, today I woke up late again and did not go to the rec as planned, but even worse I missed my 2 classes for the day, oceanography and accounting...the very same classes I will soon be tested over. However, to redeem myself I spent about 2 and a half hours studying in the library. I actually went to the public library because I don't have a parking permit and soon realized why it's called a PUBLIC library...because ANYONE can go in there, including massive hordes of whinny, maladjusted, in-need-of-Riddlin children that, though cute and adorable to the untrained eye, are really evil creatures that prevent one from doing any productive activity; though I have to admit that probably have more of a right to be there than myself, since their parents probably pay taxes and all that. Well, after lunch my roommate wanted to go fly a kite since it was "the perfect weather" to do so. However, once we got there we discovered that the kite string was in a terrible tangled mess. Against our better judgment we attempted to try to unravel the knots which got old very fast, as we made little progress. The high wind didn't help much either, and we spent the better part of an hour before we decided , in the words of my roommate who was very irritated by this point, to "screw it" and so we just cut the knot. By this time, however, the wind had decided to stop blowing as much and so we soon went home.
Right now, I should be at eating at the weekly dinner I have with my friends from Upstream, my freshman bible study I went to last year, but frankly I am too tired to ride my bike to campus. I think I will go study some more about swells and tsunamis and such, though I have to say I would rather attempt to untie impossible knots right now that read my oceanography book.

Definitely a case of the Mondays
Hey guys,
Today has been a pretty long day...though I was gonna go this morning to the rec and "beat my body 'til I made it my slave," my body objected on the basis of cruel and unusual punishment. My brain concurred and so ruled against my motion, sentencing me to a minimum of one more hour of sleep. I tried to appeal but to no avail. Anyways, after enduring another boring lecture in my oceanography class and learning about standard product costing in my accounting class, I studied pretty much all afternoon for my Info test at 4:10, which I believe I did pretty good in. After a quick workout at 5:20ish or so, I studied until 8:00 and then came home to find my roommate and lifegroup leaders there. We hold the lifegroup at my house and they were preparing the lesson and hanging out. We just went coed this year but haven't really had that many girls attend, but starting tomorrow we're combining another girls group with ours so that's gonna be cool. Well, I have an 8am lab tomorrow which I haven't studied for, so I will end it here.
